ProSimA320 MCDU

The ProSimA320 MCDU module simulates a full MCDU / FMS system, including a accurate LNAV / VNAV implementation. The configuration of MCDU hardware is done using the ProSimA320 MCDU module.

The ProSimA320 MCDU module is a fully interactive MCDU displayed and controlled by keyboard and mouse.

1 ProSimA320 MCDU

1.1 Installation

Multiple hardware MCDUs can be configured to work independently from each other.

For every physical MCDU one instance of ProSimA320 MCDU is required to run.

Therefore, copy the ProSimA320 MCDU directory as often as needed and give it a descriptive name, for instance:

C:\ProSimA320\ProSimA320_MCDU_Captain\

C:\ProSimA320\ProSimA320_MCDU_FO\

1.2 Configuration

1.2.1 Options

In this tab, general options of the MCDU module can be modified to your requirements.

ProSimA320 server: If running the ProSim320 MCDU on a different computer than ProSimA320 Systems, then fill in the IP address of the computer running ProSimA320 Systems. For more information, please refer to the Initial Setup page of this wiki.

Fonts: If required, it is possible to change the size and font of used by the ProSimA320 MCDU module. A very realistic font comes included with the ProSimA320 MCDU module. Sometimes hardware manufacturers advise to change the font size. Please consult your hardware's manual for correct sizes.

When using a hardware CDU, the following options are advised to

Turn On:

• Start full screen
• Stay on top
• Hide mouse cursor
• Allow remote computer shutdown
• Use color.

Turn Off:

• Show frame
• Show border

Set 'CDU Role' to the required setting: Standalone, Captain or First Officer.

1.3 Screen layout for VGA / DVI connected CDUs

When using a VGA / DVI connected CDU it may be required to align the screen display with the Line Select Keys (LSK). Before opening the line select option first select a MCDU page which contains a lot of information.. To start aligning the different lines open the line select mode (open ProSimA320 MCDU > right mouse click > line select mode).

The first line (LSKR1) should be lit in a yellow square box.

L / R	Left / Right
W / S	Widen / Shorten
U / D	Up / Down

When the first line is configured select the next LSK to perform the configuration again, all until all lines are aligned correctly.
