1 Modularity

The ProSim737 Suite is modular and for performance reasons may be spread across one or multiple computers within one simulation setup.

The ProSim737 System and ProSim737 MCP modules may only run once per simulation setup. These must be installed on the computer where Lockheed Martin Prepar3D® or FSX is running on (as they need direct access to Simulator Platform). In multi computer simulation setups this computer is referred to as the primary computer.

The ProSim737 Display, ProSim737 CDU, ProSim737 Audio may run multiple instances within one simulation setup, either on the single primary computer or across multiple secondary computers.

ProSim737 Hardware Connector may run multiple instances within one simulation setup, but is limited to one instance per computer. Cannot run on the primary computer.

2 Download and Installation

Check requirements first.

2.1 Automated installation using the ProSim737 Suite Installer

TBA

2.2 Manual installation of the ProSim737 Suite

  1. The following text is in regard to the manual installation of the ProSim737 Suite without making use of the ProSim737 Suite installer.
  2. Download the ProSim737 suite .ZIP file from the downloads page of the ProSim-AR website: http://prosim-ar.com/downloads/
  3. The filename of the downloaded .ZIP archive contains the following format: ProSim737-x.xx.zip. Extract this .ZIP archive, for instance in the root of your hard drive: C:\ProSim737\
  4. Open the directory where the archive has been extracted to, which contains a number of .ZIP files. Extract these files into separate subdirectories. Example directory structure:
  5. If a secondary computer is being used, copy the previously extracted module directory to that computer.
  6. When multiple instances of a module on the same computer are required, copy the existing module directory to a new directory under a different name. As an example, each physical monitor in the MIP requires a separate instance of the module ProSim737 Display to run. A typical directory structure would look like this:

2.3 Install SimConnect RTM

For Prepar3D users only - Microsoft Flight Simulator Simconnect RTM is required and needs to be installed manually. The installer is located located in Prepar3D folder - \redist\Interface\FSX-RTM\retail\lib.

2.4 Install ProSim737 Flight Model

The ProSim737 Flight Model is delivered via the version manager within ProSim737 System.

The version manager is accessed by clicking Help > Updates. The Flight Model is listed under the ‘add-ons’ tab.

For 30 minute or 30 day evaluations only the evaluation version of the flight model is available. The Evaluation flight model is a less realistic flight model in terms of behaviour for the purpose of testing system logic and hardware connectivity.

After purchasing a user license of the ProSim737 Suite the normal realistic ProSim737 Flight Model is available.

Click ‘download’ for version selected.

After the download has completed, execute the program and follow the installer instructions.

2.5 Install Navigation database

ProSim737 requires the installation of navigational data.

Start by downloading the free (outdated) Navigraph database package from the download page of the ProSim-AR website and install. Do not change the path suggested by the installer!

To download latest version of the database you will require paid subscription on Navigraph website.

2.6 Download terrain database

In ProSim737 System->Help->Database - in the Terrain data section - click on "Download" button to start downloading and installing the terrain data

2.7 Generate scenery database

In ProSim737 System->Help->Database - select the path to the installation directory from your simulator (Lockheed Martin Prepar3D® or FSX) and click on "Build database". Remember to repeat this step after making changes to your installed scenery.

2.8 Install FSUIPC

ProSim737 currently requires FSUIPC to communicate with simulator platform

ProSim version 2.0 and higher allows the assignment of all flight control axis within ProSim737 System, so no axis configuration necessary in FSUIPC.

2.9 Remove all assignments in flight simulator

The option "Enable controllers" must be disabled in Prepar3D/FSX in order to prevent input conflicts.
